Kindness Changes Everything
Reader's Digest Nicest Places Contest
Please consider donating $500 for a Kindness Tree to beautify a school or organization in your neighborhood. The donation includes the cost of the plaque and tree replacement if need be. They are a wonderful way to honor or memorialize an individual or group. The message of kindness will be profound in the spring as the trees vibrantly bloom!
A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions and the roots spring up and make new trees.
With the help of community partners and donors like you, Children's Grove plants Kindness Trees throughout Boone County. Each tree, with an accompanying dedication plaque, serves as a reminder of the importance of acting with kindness, respect and inclusivity.
Children's Grove seeks to plant a Kindness Tree at every school in Boone County, as well as at other organizations and businesses. The Kindness Tree is a Yellow "Butterflies" Magnolia that every spring is covered with bright yellow 4 -5" blossoms which radiate in the landscape like orbs of sunlight. The bright blossoms get their butterfly name because each flower petal points upwards, giving them the look of butterflies perching on top of the branches, inviting onlookers to marvel at their beauty. A low maintenance tree or multi-stemmed ornamental shrub, the "Butterflies" Magnolia has a high resistance to pests and diseases.
Each accompanying plaque and dedication is unique and created to fit the organization. Enjoy these photos from some of the past dedications:
